Smithward is our intimate, 17 seat, Collingwood wine bar at the southern end of Smith Street.
Since opening in late 2015, we’ve loved bringing our dream of a small, European-inspired neighbourhood bar to life.
Our exclusively Victorian wine list features undiscovered gems, and is complemented by a menu of grilled Raclette cheese, as well as a hand-picked selection of cheese, charcuterie and specials served with house made sourdough bread and condiments.

Beat the midweek hump with our weekly Wednesday night special of a seasonal dish plus a glass of matched wine for $15.
How do you improve on perfection? By adding more cheese of course. First we create a scrumptious baked mac’n’cheese, then we turn it up to 11 by adding a layer of our molten, golden grilled Raclette. Available Thursdays only, $23, book your place.

We make regular road trips to all corners of the state to source undiscovered gems for Smithward’s unique, exclusively Victorian wine list.
We buy direct from the wineries and have met the makers of each wine, as well as some of their dogs, sheep and kids! From Beechworth to the Bellarine, Gippsland to the Grampians, we love sharing the stories and passion of our local winemakers.

Try our speciality of grilled-to-order Raclette cheese melted over steaming hot potatoes (available every night and as Rac’n’Mac on Thursdays), as well as a hand-picked selection of cheese and charcuterie served with Graham’s own sourdough bread, made daily.
In the spirit of European small bars, we offer an ever-changing menu, made behind the bar in true Spanish style.

We’re currently closed to dine-in customers due to the existing situation. We are offering an online ordering and pick-up service – click here.
Reservations are not required – you’re always welcome on a walk-in basis – but as we’re a small venue and often at capacity, if you’d like to guarantee a spot for a specific time please email us with your desired date, preferred time and number of people (4 or less). In the current situation we ask you to be flexible with your preferred booking time:
Reservations will be confirmed by return email. Bookings will be held for 15 minutes on the night, if you’re running late please email us to hold your seats.
Please be aware we have a very limited number of tables and much of our seating is on barstools.
As we’re a very small venue, the current regulations limit our total capacity. To allow for social distancing we are closely managing seating. The largest group we can currently accommodate is four people.
Our petit size also means we are unable to accept strollers/pushers or younger visitors.
